The Cayman S does the 0-100km/h sprint in 5.1 seconds and reaches a top speed of 275km/h. These figures don’t do justice to the very balanced handling, braking and cornering performance of the Cayman S allowing it to enter the performance level of the Porsche flagship, the 911.
Astonishingly, the Cayman is not available from Porsche equipped with a limited slip differential (LSD), a must have option for any sophisticated sportscar improving traction making the car faster under hard driving conditions.
Some commentators have speculated that LSD is not offered, even as an option, because the Cayman S's performance would then be too close to that of the 911 Carrera no longer allowing Porsche to justify the higher price of the standard Carrera base model.
