Porsche 996 GT2 & GT3 CS Club Sport

Introduction to the Porsche 996 GT2 & GT3 CS

Both the 996 GT2 and the GT3 were available with a factory fitted Club Sport package including carbon fibre front and rear bonnet (hood), a roll cage coloured in the cars exterior colour, carbon fibre bucket racing seats covered with fire resistant fabric, six-point harnesses, manual rear-view mirror adjustment and an emergency cut-off switch.

The CS engine featured a single-mass flywheel instead of the standard dual-mass flywheel of the standard GT3. Additionally the CS allowed the driver/owner to manually switch off the driver and passenger side airbags which were completely removed. Reinforced doors were fitted instead in order to provide sufficient side impact protection.
