Within the production time of the 951, the genuine con rods for the engines M44/51 and 44/52 were manufactured in various versions by Porsche, all of them slightly different to each other. All versions had in common that they reached their structural limits when exceeding power levels of 350 bhp.
In addition to this, the OEM rods are more than 20 year old parts offering considerable optimization potential regarding weight and stability. The average OEM con rod weighs 840g and therefore is quite heavy.
Bearing these issues in mind, DEUTSCH NINE has been doing an extensive search for a high-quality solution for the above problems which had to be a complete “bolt-in replacement” for the genuine rods.
We wanted to offer the performance and quality-minded customer a European Product incorporating high European functionality and quality standards.
The rods presented here are custom manufactured by a very renowned race car builder from northern Europe (with the main focus on rally cars). As they are custom made, special requirements regarding weight and stability can be included for each individual set of rods.
The version featured here weighs approx. 692g and offers considerable structural reserves as these rods are designed to handle 1000bhp+. The quality of the product is astonishing, weight tolerance rod / rod is only +/- 0.5g.
Upgrading your engine with these high-quality rods saves in total 600g of rotating / moving mass and provides structural reserves for all imaginable future tuning initiatives.
The rods are individually manufactured and special requirements of the customer may be included. The scope of delivery includes 4 rods, 8 high quality fasteners, assembly lubrication and installation guidelines.
